Paris, 1900, silvered-bronze winner’s plaquette for physical exercise and sports, by Frederic de Vernon (1858-1912), Nike holding olive sprays, hovers over a Paris cityscape, rev. an ancient athlete draped with mantle, stands victorious at Olympia, EXERCICES PHYSIQUES ET SPORTS, 60mm x 42mm, edge stamped BRONZE. The second modern Olympic Games were held in Paris during the summer of 1900, an outstanding example of one of the earliest Olympic medals, extremely fine and lightly toned in original? fitted case
