Gold Posey ring, 1600-1750
D-shaped band with an exposed gold ridge running around the centre, this dividing panels of black enamel. Also decorating the outer band are three diagonal rectangular bands which are positioned at irregular intervals and decorated with a hatched design. Internally it is inscribed with a Latin inscription Vbi amor ibi fides (Where there is love there is faith), 17.7 mm diameter, 3.6mm wide, 2.02g. In very good condition, and still retaining most of the black enamelling
